It's been awhile since I did a bathroom by colour post, so I thought I would get back into it. Since I am starting fresh, why not start off with all white bathrooms. In this post I tried to stick with all white modern minimalist bathrooms (I'll do another post for those who want an all white bathroom but don't want to go so modern). It was fun going thru my files to find all the photos of sleek white bathrooms, but I have to say after going thru so many white washroom photos I was craving colour!
What I love about all white washrooms is you can always change it up, add some colour or pattern later and you have a completely different bathroom. I am always amazed when I see a room decorated completely in white, right down to the accessories. I just don't have that discipline and like I said, I crave colour so I could never live in an all white house or have an all white room for that matter. So I am always impressed by people who do and of course then I immediately want to know what they do for a living. One lady I know who has a mostly all white home works in a high stress job so she loves coming home to the tranquility of white. Another works with kids all day so she tells me she has her fill of colour at work surrounded by all the colourful toys and that being surrounded by white feels nice and quiet and re-energizes her for work. She even has an all white cat! Talk about being committed to a colour. I also read somewhere of a designer, can't remember who, likes to live in a mostly white house because they are surrounded by colour, pattern and design all day so it gives them a break and lets their creative juices flow. All makes sense to me. I just don't know how they go shopping and resist the urge to pick up cute things in different colours!
I think my favorite white minimalistic bathrooms are the ones that have great windows looking out at nature. The glimpse of lush greenery warms up the modern look & makes it less stark and sterile.
I'd love to know what you think. Do you find these white modern bathrooms refreshing or
too minimalist for your taste? And would you do a mostly white room in your house and which room would you do?
