Bathrooms from the movies - Miss Pettigrew lives for a day

How will I possibly be able to top this pink photo?

Besides the latest sightings of Cher in a mask, how often
do we get to see a high caliber actress like Frances McDormand in a face mask!

Doesn't Amy Adams look so sweet sitting in the tub with the pink satin bow in her hair.

Talk about a show stopping tub. I need to rent this movie just to find out if
she gets out of the tub singing. I can just imagine a chorus line of
girls dressed in sequins and feathers coming out of the bathtub dancing and
singing show tunes, just like in the old movies.

And wouldn't you feel like a Hollywood starlet putting your makeup on at this vanity:

Looking at these pictures, I can't believe I still haven't seen this movie, and it came out in 2008!

I think I am going to have to do some research to find deco glam bathrooms of the
1930's. I am curious to see if there were ladies who had bathrooms decorated like this
with giant oyster shell tubs, oodles of crystal wall scones, mirrors galore, and boudoirs filled with beautiful perfume bottles, decanters and powder puffs. Just imagine what over the top glamorous and adventurous lives they must have lead. I'm sure they would faint if
they saw some of our Modern Minimalist bathrooms of today!

As per the production designer, Sarah Greenwood, who came up with this unbelievable decor, the wallpaper which is Chinoserie hand painted wallpaper, costs a fortune. However, it doesn't stop us from Oooing and Ahhhing over the delicious designs. You can see more by the company, de Gournay, who made it here. Gwyneth Paltrow is a fan.

For Breast Cancer Awareness month, will be doing a pink post every day for the month of October and on October 9th I'll feature a collection of pink bathrooms.
